Jazz on a Summer's Day 1959
This film is magical to me. It shows LIFE, like REAL LIFE man... It's HUMANITY right there on the screen, humanity before social media and cell phones and 24-hour news cycles. It's a slice of something I don't think we'll ever get back as a species.

The Hopewell Haunting 2022
I loved this film. As someone who grew up in the South listening to ghost stories like this, I totally got it. I thought the slow, creeping progression of the main character's journey into the house was suspenseful and really drew me in. The quiet parts were deafening. The payoff was worth the wait for me because the wait was so packed with dread. I'm not a film scholar but the whole production seemed minimalist. I didn't mind the actors' performances, again maybe it's just bc of where I spent my childhood.
