This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
For not exhaustively seeing any previous Planet of the Apes installments, this seemed like a valid starting point. This picks up far after the previous movies, and starts a new narrative, separate from the story of Caesar in the other films. Yet, it still ties in very nicely to the other movies by upholding Caesar’s legacy and including various references, from what I can tell.
