fantastic adaptation ,
book isnt in first person so im surprised the film is? takes a bit of getting used to, yes, but ultimately i think it works well w the story — doesnt read as just a gimmick.
also surprising how many small details pass as relatively unexplained (eg ice cream) — chilling for sure But perhaps confusing / harder to connect w if u havent read the og? not sure . i thought it was brilliant .
would recommend reading first watching second

one time and this is a true story i got trapped in the same room as the most annoying lesbian i knew at the time whilst she got too high and wouldnt shut up abt the time she got raped (obviously terrible and im sorry but read the room) yet instead of leaving i also got too high went nonverbal and hallucinated my jeans were melting so the best parts of this movie captured that feeling perfectly but overall i stand by my opinion that film is not the best medium for this sort of narrative when the self publishing industry is right there
