  very touching film, visually beautiful and the emotions really build up and hit you all at once at the end — just like for nora. really hard not to linger on the “what ifs” of life! i get people saying this feels too idealistic/unrealistic but so are a lot of our wonderings and fantasies. her husband was maybe a little too chill tho lmao

  these queens are messyyyyy!! a fun watch, kept me interested throughout even if it was a bit of a slow burn. beautiful cinematography, really fits that catholic aesthetic. actors were great! the last drop felt a little anti-climatic without any real resolution, it’s one that i feel could have more meaning behind it but i respect that they said what they said and left it at that.

  tragically beautiful. the themes still ring the same almost 40 years ago. tensions everywhere while you try and coexist in a world where around every corner there are people who hate your very existence! the character designs in this movie are so vibrant, the two hours in this never once feel dull when there’s so much to pay attention to. i loved it, i wish it wasn’t as apt as it was in 1989 and still is in 2025.

  another movie i’m checking off the “i can’t believe you’ve never seen this” list! every needle drop in this hits like CRAZY!! i love a film where i might not automatically connect all the dots. this film has such a chilling presence to it but also manages to be silly and full of love and passion, honestly i feel like i experience the full range of human emotion in this. lots of fun paranormal/scifi, and jake gyllenhaal rlly put his everything into this.
