This movie was incredibly well written, and the plot keeps the audience engaged until the end. While Knives Out focused more on Detective Blanc, Glass Onion allowed the star-studded supporting cast to shine throughout. Although the cast’s personalities were a little overwritten, Janelle Monet was simply astounding. A twist is expected after seeing Knives Out, but the twist is still unpredictable. All in all, Glass Onion was an outstanding stand-alone film and a top-tier sequel set to keep the franchise moving forward.
Surrounded by a loaded cast, Alexander Skarsgård truly shines in The Northman. This classic tale of betrayal and revenge features stunning Icelandic views and fierce, graphic battles. The film is also littered with Nordic mysticism, sometimes relying on it too much to tie up loose strings and advance the plot. The final battle was exciting and reminiscent of a certain famous Star Wars duel, but it still left something to be desired after having made the protagonist’s bloodline such an important part of the film.
Such a beautiful movie. Black Panther Wakanda Forever juggles the burden of grief, the pain of loss, and the taste of revenge all while seamlessly introducing new heroes (and anti-heroes) and strengthening ones we were already familiar with. Tasked with the impossible challenge of replacing Chadwick Boseman, Marvel outdid themselves and have positioned themselves considerably well to look forward to the future of the Black Panther franchise and the Cinematic Universe as a whole.
