Berlin Alexanderplatz 1980
It's a march to the beat of a drum, slowly towards the end. R.W. Fassbinder never gives an inch, this is his story to tell, his point to make.
At the height of the great depression in Germany, over 6 million people were unemployed. This is where Franz Bieberkopf (played in an incredible performance by Günter Lamprecht) finds himself after being sentenced to four years in Tegel for murdering his mistress. An act the viewer will go on to witness…

Hellraiser 2022
There are reviews that just hurt to write. The original Hellraiser is incredibly personal to me. It was an awakening about my body, both queer and distorted. Things finally clicked about what I wanted to experience. It helped shape my queer identity early on. Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story 1987
Multiple moments where my own body came into focus. A stunning restoration of a brilliant piece of filmmaking.

MaXXXine 2024
lol. Okay.
Slight expansion of thoughts:
I actually liked X and Pearl, I have also been known to defend The Innkeepers but jesus christ this was… pathetic. If you are deadset on referencing the religious exploitation films alongside the Giallo films of the 70’s/80’s, you need to have a distinct perspective to build off those references. You can’t do whatever cheap fucking copy this was, just because you know the references doesn’t mean you have the talent to expand on them.
