  ETA: been thinking about this movie all day, not in a good way. i think most of my thoughts lie around the ‘hype’ that was generated for this movie. i fully bought into it too. i watched  the teasers and trailers seconds after they posted. with each one, my excitement grew. at the end of the day, those little snippets were more exciting to me then the actual movie. after watching this and the rest of years horrors slate, i can’t help but feel disappointed. So far, all they have to offer are successful marketing campaigns and ambiguously religious undertones.

  Yeah this movie deserves 6 stars. My shoulders were tensed the entire time and I thought JK Simmons was going to reach through the TV and smack me. That is one the most anxiety inducing, downright SCARY movies I have ever seen. The pure beauty of the music helped tie everything so wonderfully. And the ending? That’s the most haunting part of the entire film. How did Damien direct this then La La Land?
