Personally, it’s not a masterpiece to me, but it comes pretty close.
I never got kicked out of the immersion.
The characters and plot develop in a homogeneous and exciting way.
I like that it has a nice and subtle ambivalent message that isn’t shoved in your face, unlike many Hollywood movies nowadays
Without Robert Pattinson this would be nothing more than a B-movie with a high budget.
If you know Show, don’t tell… this was mostly tell, flashback, show a little bit, tell, flashback, end.
The story could have potential with better editing and a better villain. (i don’t need to see a cartoon-like Trump making stupid comments for more than 2 hours..)

If this movie had to stand on its own, it would have flopped:
• The story doesn’t feel very creative. In the first movie, they unlocked the ability to reach further destinations, and now they’re saying: “Yeah, but it’s kind of pointless because there’s nothing out there. Oh, and the reason for that is (brilliantly) another god blocking the sea. He did this to gain power (which he then used for what exactly over the last 1,000 years?)”
