The Brutalist 2024
An unimportant story that never needed to be told. The 3.5 hour run time attempts to over-compensate for the lack of story, depth, and philosophical questions to grapple with. The Brutalist needed to be edited with a chainsaw but that would leave the viewers with nothing at all. Solid acting across the board but the characters are not interesting or compelling at all. No Other Land 2024
Silly of me to think this would be an interesting story of two journalists unique perspectives on what’s currently happening in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Nope - instead we get 1.5 hours of wildly pro-Palestinian propaganda. Unbelievable how little context this movie provides to the issue at large. They just want to show “look at this sad mother and child as their home gets destroyed” and force you to jump to conclusions without any other information or context. Not one interview…
