This hit me with a wave of nostalgia I wasn't expecting. Not only is this a solid film, with a monstrous collaboration between Panahi and Kiarostami, but it also resonated so much with me personally.

Unlike most other contemporary Iranian films, this is a very accurate portrayal of what early 2000s Tehran was like, the house parties, the abismal wealth gaps the underage workers and soldiers... the list could go on. It is more of an observation than something to decipher.

Finally, if you've ever had pizza in Iran this film will just have you drooling and craving one all along :)

    "Who are you?"

Few movies have left me as unsettled as this one... Horror through meticulous suggestion, from the unknown... you could almost point out how much the content of the movie speaks for cinema itself.

What can I say, this is my second Edward Yang film and I loved it. There's something humbling about his movies, these characters trapped in a certain determinism, in lives they wish to escape from and uncertain futures, it hits close to home... I have difficulty putting into words most of what it is I liked, but if there's anything I noticed the most was the amazing use of light, not only is light present in this neon-filled city, but at times it speaks for the characters louder than any dialogue or action could.
