My ratings are a totally subjective indication of how much I enjoyed watching the film this time around.

Paterson 2016
In lieu of a standard narrative this film structures itself like the poems Paterson writes: seemingly meandering till he connects the random details to his idea. This film is a week of his life and the first 6 days function almost as a prologue, setting up who he is and what his world is. Rather than intention and obstacle keeping us engaged there's a bizarre string of set up and pay off, almost like a bunch of jokes but rather…

Petite Maman 2021
I think a lot of film watchers and filmmakers equate good story telling with conflict. There are so many movies that just have people fighting in every scene because they think that’s necessary. Zack Snyder's Justice League 2021
If the other justice league didn’t exist this would be the worst movie I’ve ever watched.

Ocean's Eleven 2001
I liked it even more this time. The chemistry is amazing, the time it gives all the different characters to shine, the perfectly composed not too flashy not too boring spots. This movie is great.
I still take issue with the lack of clear perspective but I can mostly ignore that and have fun.
