  Coralie Fargeat's nightmarish satire of beauty and fame is a slick and gruesome plunge into body horror, but it leaves a lot to be desired. The film’s biggest strength is its aesthetic: hauntingly sterile environments, hyper-stylized set pieces, and top-notch editing pull you in, making this one visually unforgettable fever dream.   FLAWLESS.

  I had the pleasure of attending Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s “As Bestas” premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and my blood is still boiling. I have not seen a film that has made me feel as tense and nervous as this one since Damien Chazelle’s Whiplash. Based on the audience’s reaction and the ~6 minute standing ovation (which only stopped because Denis Ménochet gestured that he wanted a drink), I am sure I’m not the only one.

  I had the chance to see this film at the Cannes Film Festival.

  It’s a technically perfect film led by a solid cast, but unfortunately I felt that it lacked a lot of substance and dragged on for too long.  

  A great family film or for a rainy day.
