A pleasant surprise.
My only wish was that they somehow went further with the violence towards the end. I’m not sure how but when Ayo escapes through the window, I wish the insanity continued to rev up instead of stalling. The twist had been pretty bonkers but I felt a little empty about the lack of continuation of the momentum. How she finally escapes was fine but that sequence in between the puppet show and the ceremony left me wanting…

Fucking badass.
Four stars up until that insane twist towards the end. That ending was my favorite “what the fuck holy shit” moviegoing experience in as long as I can remember. Had to give it a half star bump for that.
Loooooved the gnarly realism of the chestburster scene. Badass & visceral kills all around too.
