Agatha Christie Macabre Kung Fu Mystery Fairytale … I guess
Lately I found myself enjoying enormously every Chor Yuen movie I watch. If I were to describe his work, based on what I’ve seen so far, I would say he’s something like Shaw Brothers’ Guillermo del Toro, minus the sentimentality combined with Hammer’s Terence Fisher letting loose and partaking into some Kung Fu. It’s just a unique creativity unleashed.. (on a budget). Splendid!

Desert Fury 1947
Gorgeous technicolor film noir with an insane melodrama infusion, an absolutely breathtaking Arizona backdrop, and an excessive number of slaps.

Showdown in Little Tokyo 1991
The acting is awful, the plot is ridiculous, the dialogue is in arrested development, Dolph’s wardrobe is bananas (when he’s not almost naked), yet Showdown in Little Tokyo is an absolute joy to spend time with.
