I can instantly think of some things that I don’t like about it (e.g., lens flares), but the way this movie makes me feel means so much more. Raw and beautiful - a breathtaking religious experience. Even the story of its creation is mythical.

Purple Rain 1984
Saw this in a packed theatre in Southern California with a bunch of wine drunk 50 to 60 year olds and it was good fun. Some people were saying the lines along with the actors (at what I thought was a very reasonable cadence) and some got up and danced. I elected to dance in my seat as I am a large man, but I definitely participated when people started waving their phone flashlights back and forth.
