It's not brave enough to call itself Paddington 3 and I can see why. A large departure from the two tentpole classics of this series in tone, style, and messaging. Shows serious signs of being a movie made during the pandemic/actors strike period. Why Don't You Play in Hell? 2013
Dark comedy action Yakuza movie about making a Yakuza movie, it feels like a Goro Majima substory. Very enjoyable in big chunks, especially when it got campy and leaned heavily into genre and stylization. Lots and lots of fun camera work, and fun performances. The pacing and CGI blood definitely hold it back somewhat, but otherwise the practical effects all rock. Not really emotionally resonant or anything, but it's not an ENTIRELY surface level movie. Crazy movie to retire on.

Totally uninspired camera work and lighting keep this from being a visually interesting movie. The pacing was strange and some of the sound editing was student-film quality and totally distracting as well.
