Black Bag is super slick and short which means you've got to be paying attention the entire time, especially since the dialogue is quick and punchy. Unfortunately, the guy behind me was breathing quite disturbingly and I couldn't focus during that first dinner scene. I need to watch it again. Unfortunately, he would repeat lines to the person he was with and laugh... even when the line wasn't meant to be comedic. Such a strange theatrical experience. Anyway, I like this movie.

With it being St. Patrick's Day and having just recently watched and loved Sing Street, another film from John Carney seemed to be appropriate for today. I'm unintentionally working my way backwards through the John Carney filmography, mostly because Once was not available for me to stream. The music in Begin Again isn't as fun and entertaining as Sing Street, but the setting and actors still make this a great watch. I was shocked that Keira Knightley could play and sing and it was joy to see her in something outside of Pirate stuff.

I've been trying to process what I'm missing since this is so highly praised, but the more I think about Aftersun the more I dislike it. The actors are amazing. It looks beautiful and further cements my desire to visit Turkey. But the way this story was being told was equivalent to watching paint dry while realizing that it's not the color you wanted.

I'm not sure if the HVAC just wasn't set to an appropriate temperature or if the entire audience was just so stressed that the cooling couldn't keep up with the amount of heat we were all projecting, but it got very warm in my packed IMAX theater. Regardless of that, what an incredible experience this was. I feel bad for my 13-year-old son who got to watch this with me; How is he going to be able to go to…
