What seems to start out as a tacky 'hero' martial arts film quickly becomes one of the most ruthless and fun films I've seen in years. The gimmick of the film being set on a train leads to some fantastic choreography as well as reinforcing that this film has a momentum to it which makes it hard to stop watching, let alone get off the train. Super fun blend of John Wick's music and the layering of action beats, as well as the claustrophobia and brutality of The Raid films. VERY VIOLENT film though so be careful heading in

Challengers 2024
This movie hits. Most interesting love triangle I've seen in a long time and the three leads are incredible throughout. Great use of the soundtrack by Trent and Atticus to drive the film along. Amazing stuff and a must watch if you don't mind a bit of tennis

Dune: Part Two 2024
A cinematic spectacle. Must watch on the biggest screen possible. Odd pacing choices and whatever but just go watch for big worm

A History of Violence 2005
One of the most interesting explorations of violence I have ever seen. Incredible acting from start to finish which allows Cronenberg to explore the impact of the characters actions and how their demeanours are changed throughout. The Howard Shore score was surreal as you're hearing LotR music after witnessing people being brutally murdered. David Cronenberg has always had it and this is a must watch if you feel like watching a movie without any hope
