  “this film would not have been possible without the generosity of the people of the gaza strip”

  one of very few fictional films to ever be filmed in gaza. the lovers were not the most believable, but i don’t think the film was just about them. every scene highlighted the oppressiveness of israeli occupation, a love story is a poignant vessel to explore that through.

  lmao at an israeli filmmaker making this and having said absolutely nothing about the occupation and abhorrent history in palestine / towards palestinians. would’ve been gross at any point in time, and it’s especially gross in the midst of the most aggressive assault in decades.

  absurd levels of hypocrisy and lack of self awareness. 

  (wish i had looked at the nomination list before buying a ticket to the shorts screening. would not have opted to see this).
