The most valuable thing of this movie is the how rather than the what.
The story has a very appealing start, but the characters' development makes them being childish and immature. The final twist makes no real sense at all, but helps the story to come to a socially accepted ending, this movie is all about idillic love and nothing about daily relationships. However, the narrative is the most important asset of this piece, each step of the story is patiently introduced and the music helps in creating the emotion that the story is supposed to convey.Translated from by -
To Catch a Thief 1955
Nice thriller from the 50s filmed in france. The plot seemed a bit forced, but ended up being a tidy story all in all. Grace Kelly was, as always, splendid. Warnings agains standard sexism customs of the decade apply in this movie as well (aka man hero, woman side kick, many women falling for the same guy, the guy not wanting to be with any of them).
