  a fun and adorable coming-of-age that has the perfect amount of heart and cringe, an element crucial to movies exploring the tween phase. love me some girlhood and female friendship movies.

  the sandlers need to make more of this. i'm not mad at this kind of nepotism.

  the story line was great and all, but i'm tired of these movies that still use the same problematic trope: a guy insistently pursuing a girl who had repeatedly told and shown him she has no interest in him, whatsoever. he will eventually get the girl to fall in love with him as these stalker moves get a pass because he's cute and the cheesy background music says so. i mean come on, if it were real life, that would've been straight up creepy.
