YES!!! THESE ARE THE 3 1/2 STAR FILMS I LOVE!!!
If you get me you get me, a movie that isn’t gonna win any awards, knows it’s worth, and is one hell of a fun ride. This honestly has the self awareness and lack of pretension that a complete unknown could’ve had to make it great. Bring back awesome popcorn movies!!! WOOO BABY! I loved this. This is a five star 3 1/2 star film for sure.
(Also we need a loosely based Luca Guadaningo adaptation in 10 years time)
I don’t know too much about making movies but from a viewers perspective every choice made in this film was the right one. Really amazing!!!
I’m having many feelings….
To be so fr I did not expect so much complexity from this movie. It is quite clever. An instant favorite for sure.
I also loved the scene where they look through the boarded up pavilion and Manuela states she doesn’t like the Venus mural because she’s too naked. I thought that was incredible complexity and sensitivity to add onto her character and this story.
