Loved this movie. This is the first Akira Kurosawa film within the Samurai Film genre, and it kind of shows. The Northman 2022
The Northman has all the qualities of what a true viking saga should be. The story is based on the original Danish tale of Amleth, before it was adapted by Shakespeare into Hamlet. A story about vengeance and the right to take back what is one's by birth, in this case the crown of a Danish kingdom. At least, that's what the traditional take on Amleth would have you expect.
