I’ll buy you a drink at your wake!
Maureen O’Hara romping barefoot across the Irish landscape and everyone getting hyped up about two guys’ silly feud really did it for me

Wowowow
Just an incredible intricate, clever, aesthetically appealing film. I love gentle hijinks and the way Tati skewers modern living/ minimalism. The restaurant scene was like a Rube Goldberg machine and was utterly delightful. Woke up the morning after watching this is such a good mood I can’t believe Monsieur Hulot cured my seasonal depression.
Relieved the people in this weren’t as weird as I feared going in. In fact, many were so sweet and passionate! Def came away with feeling taxidermy is an art and was a nice way to revisit my love of the AMNH dioramas.
Some things that bugged me: no non white taxidermists or acknowledgement of this skew in field combined with its colonial roots and heavy focus on white South African dude is…😖
