The political themes could've been explored deeper imo, but it doesn't seem like the direction bong joon-ho wanted to take with this one. I did like how he gave voice to serious anxieties in a super energetic + funny way that still feels sincere. Also to see an assassination attempt in a film feels SO crazy right now

The way that tension is built in this film feels like Shakespeare. The right thing to do is different for every situation - sometimes violence is necessary for self preservation, sometimes it's only a way to vent the violence inflicted on you, where do you draw the line?
