I wasn’t a fan of Mainetti’s earlier works but I was impressed by this one and ever more so by his speech at the end of the screening, he seems very smart and passionate.
The action scenes are finally state of the art thanks to Marvel’s Liang Yiang, the main actress is an actual kung fu master, the story works and the pacing is great
There was a single scene that felt like a promotional stunt and yeah, he confirmed that it was and he unsuccessfully tried to cut it. He also made a Guadagnino impression and everyone laughed. Fun timesTranslated from by -

As a weirdly fun sci-fi political MAGA commentary comedy, this movie is pretty much made for me but I have to concede it’s no masterpiece, there are so many underdeveloped topics and characters while the weird aliens definitely overstay their welcome.

I don’t have childhood memories of this movie that everyone else seems to have so it seems a bit overrated to me, it’s very long and the humour is a bit weird, especially with the over the top action scenes, but in the end there are quite a few good laughs and the music is so great that it’s definitely a fun watch
