On a more legit note I thought it was interesting they highlighted autophagy when it didn’t really have anything to do with the plot (to me). It made me think that this might be a commentary on how we use up Earth’s resources. And then the tie in with autophagy would be that the Earth had to start consuming itself to make up for us taking so much…Translated from by
