This is the type of film that inspires me to create!

So grateful that this piece of art exists. This is the perfect blend of macabre and sentimental that is so up my alley.

This might be my favorite film of the whole year.

Such a touching story of outsiders who find solace and love within each other.

This won't be for everyone, but those who get it, get it.

    Essential Cinema.

I've seen quite a few fucked up movies (A Serbian Film, The Human Centipede, etc.), and never have I felt genuinely horrified/disturbed because I found a strange comfort in the separation of knowing they were fictional.

But nothing could've prepared me for this film. The phrase "essential cinema" is thrown around way too much. But this film, this fucking film, is essential cinema!

This has permanently altered how I will view any and all war content from now…

After seeing filmmaker Elijah Anthony's previous works, I eagerly awaited his follow-up.

Once again, Anthony demonstrates his prowess for aesthetically pleasing cinematography.

Antonhy's adaptation of Frost's work serves as an interesting inspiration. However, the scenes performed in the latter half of the film by the two leads (who show great potential) were challenging to invest into completely, specifically the character of "Harry," played by Emmett Kineman, who ultimately came across as too young and inexperienced to deliver the required subtlety…

It is a beautiful choice to be in a space of continuous movement while locking the observer in a static state. A friend remarked that this piece captures the feeling of a one-way mirror.

There's a beauty in Pieces of Paris that mixes tranquility with a subtle loneliness. So tender. I hope to see more work soon.

    Wholeheartedly unique. (no spoilers)

I’m so happy to say that I saw this in theaters! Even though this is available to see online, I knew that to get everything out of Skinamarink, a theater viewing was a must.

I was really nervous going to see this in theaters because I had a feeling that a lot of people there weren’t aware that it was an experimental horror film. Sure enough, Izzy and I were the only people in the theater…

    Wow. Speechless once again.

I can’t even imagine what Joel could accomplish with some actual money behind him.

For the majority of this film, I was growing exceedingly nervous at the fact that the entire film was nothing but a compilation of mundane scenarios and I was starting to become disappointed…

But once again, Joel subverts your expectations by absolutely roundhouse kicking you in the liver with emotion in its final moments.

The impact that this films final minutes had on…
