A gripping experience from start to finish, with so many plot twists that I had no chance of predicting what would happen next. One of the best movies I have seen.
The only thing I did not like was the way in which it was a little surreal towards the end - the morse code and such, but overall, an intricate, thought through storyline paired with great cinematography.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I haven’t read the book, so I cannot compare it to the movie, but my friend said they cut out a lot of the story. Still, I enjoyed the film adaptation, and will definitely watch the rest of the series. Also, I was surprised that Gandalf died so early on. I’m hoping he’ll be back. I’m glad CGI has improved since then.
I did not expect the movie to go the way it did - I had heard my friends talk about it before and my expectations were higher. Regardless of this, I enjoyed the movie. Ted’s voice over is quite similar in parts to Peter Griffin’s voice (also Seth MacFarlane’s work) which I also quite enjoyed. Overall, it was an enjoyable movie, but for me it wasn’t anything remarkable.
After having seen other movies directed by Christopher Nolan, such as TENET and Inception, I was expecting a similar movie style. Although he did not have the same creative freedom here as the movie is based on comic books, I felt he still managed to add his own personal ‘touch’. All in all, I enjoyed this movie very much, and I will definitely watch the follow up film. Towards the end, the director’s cinematic and script choices gave me goosebumps, so I felt that he achieved in making the viewer feel something.
P.S. I found Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker fascinating and an outstanding performance.
