Lost in Translation 2003
i actually quite liked this film!! it was different, but i liked it. i thought it captured the feeling of apathy through the storytelling / filming really beautifully.

The Boy and the Heron 2023
my 2nd time watching this one. the first time i watched the boy and the heron i was so confused, but when you read up on the references in the film you start to realize that there is sooo much depth and meaning behind it. and the animation is amazing obviously.
i actually really loved that the protagonist in this studio Ghibli was so different than in the other Ghibli movies. at first maybe you think he has no strong personality or is just boring, but i think they perfectly captured what it's like to be numb while processing trauma.
