  Piping hot take but it wasn’t as horrendous as expected. Felt self contained and had interesting arcs that I was actually interested in. The cameo was actually exciting too. Felt like a nice scale down from multiverse of madness and eternals. Actually was fun bc you could tell they were trying (at least) to do something interesting w the cinematography.

  I’m such a sucker for early Wes Anderson. The lower budget and the notable absence of Wes’ yet-to-be-honed dollhouse style in this film goes to show that his charm undoubtedly lies in his lovably ill-fated characters and their storylines: not necessarily his style. While certainly defining of his style, his more recent films’ flashy, expensive set pieces and what have come to be recognized as visual Wes Anderson-isms, aren’t the primary reason that makes me…
