  Disclaimer: I am a journalist, so my appreciation for this movie is probably something of a masturbatory exercise. HOWEVER,

  This is a brilliant film. I think it was completely underserved by its marketing and branding. While this is certainly a film about a second American Civil War, it really isn’t. This is a movie about journalism, its beauty, its horror, its importance, and its depravity. And through showcasing those many facets of journalism, we also gain insight into that thing…

  Phenomenal performances, brilliant cinematography and editing, some real surreal moments too which I really enjoyed.

  Cons: plot can meander. Overly long (did not care for the epilogue). There is a lack of resolution, closure, or clarity — which was certainly an intentional choice, but I’m not sure if it landed.
