Even with how bizarre the plot is, it’s ultimately a love story, about transformation and unconditional love. I’m surprised at how much I cared for Alexia and Vincent. It reminds me of Love Lies Bleeding in terms of the character and overall tone (LLB is also about a female serial killer, but so much worse).
The story goes like this:

- great movie in the way that it kept me thinking about it, and let me understand how fucked the society is when this movie didn’t fill them with rage after watching it
This doesn’t feel like a movie. It’s a montage, a memory lane from the pov of Sophie. The movie feels heavy. I was so anxious and kept waiting for sth to happen, but apparently nothing explicitly happened. Dad struggles with mental issue, killed himself, leaving the daughter with so many questions intertwining with memories of them together. I would’ve done the same, looping their memories together while looking for clues for his suicide, wondering what happened, could I have done…
