  As genuinely harrowing as the ordeal is, the degree of villainry sometimes reaches grotesque levels, reinventing Hannibal as a 13 years old boy. This sadly spoiled the psychologism for me.

  the film intertwines notions of bio-evolution, beauty, progress, and human sacrifice.

  ideas / thoughts that were brought up in my head after watching:
  a) any human ability (e.g., senses, body movements) can be made a source of aesthetic pleasure. growing new organs is no exception.
  b) most of the popular focus on body improvement is about enhancing human's abilities in areas of 'normal'/well-recognised success (more strength / agility, less illness / pain). but what about matching our spiritual / moral…
