I think this film is about getting the numbers wrong. The big gamble that doesn’t pan out.
This movie continues a recent trend of beautiful films that approach womanhood with more care and nuance, but I think there’s so much more to take away about life, passion, and regret.

This is a bad movie.
There’s a story worth telling in here, but it’s thrown out for a by-the-numbers love story, which would be fine if either of the characters were given any reason to bond other than “we hung out for a week”.
Natalie’s romantic feelings for Mitch are baseless. Mitch is also never presented to be a decent person. He never really addresses his sex addiction or Natalie’s statements about his inability to take responsibility for himself. He just kind of exists for a while.
This is a movie that couldn’t quite figure out how to end, so it blows through a bunch of bullet points real fast in the final 10 minutes.
Also, why the hell isnt Lawrence Fishbourne in the franchise after this? Dude’s in charge of the IMF. There’s a whole story between this and Ghost Protocol that’s missing.
