  Well, they finally did it. They couldn’t make Idris Elba James Bond, so they stuck him in a James Bond film and called it Luther. 

  This big-budget Luther movie is everything the Luther TV series is not: a colourful, CGI-heavy, country-spanning punch-athon of ridiculousness that seems entirely without purpose. Where’s the slow-burn, entangled web, dark grittiness and burdening weight of the TV show that made it stand out of the crowd from all other crime dramas? This entry blends blandly…

  Shadow of the Vampire 2000

  Deliciously dark fantastical telling of the filming of Nosferatu. Willem Dafoe excels as Max Schreck, a role he was probably born to portray (a good warm up for the Green Goblin no doubt). Funny, chilling, camp, knowingly reflecting its source material. The 92 minutes runtime keeps it short, sweet and succulent. You’ll want to savour it.
