Fluff crime comedy about a recidivist crook (Robinson) fresh out of jail who, with a couple of loveable lughead partners, buys a leather store next to a bank so they can tunnel through to the vault, but starts to accidentally go straight as business booms and the community of merchants with surrounding stores come to respect and admire him. Charming and might make for a good low-key Christmas movie. Robinson really seems at home with the comedy and gives a good turn.

I actually think this could make for a good modern remake, too, if somebody did it right.

It's also not all that funny. Macarena Gómez gives one of the few performances that actually manages to be emotionally affecting, and without her this movie would probably be memorable only for the very strange sights it offers.

    To be clear, this movie…
