A gem of a film. Quirky and alternative. I thoroughly enjoyed and recommend it. Very funny yet.. jarring moments.. however I could kind of see where the film was going towards the end. I would have given it 5 stars if the end wasn’t as semi-predictable.
Fabulous direction. Gorgeous cinematography and story telling. A moving story about grief and the complex emotions that come with it.
So brave of Richard Gadd. Amazing to see a trans role as a love interest also
I loved this film. Shot so beautifully, an homage to Italy. Marble sculptures, food, family and the Italian countryside. You can tell the director enjoyed making this and enjoyed the act of being creative. It felt very whimsical. The feeling of wanting was ever-present; that love you can’t quite reach, the riches you can’t quite find, the social class you can’t quite move to… the thread you can’t quite reach the end of… the dream you can’t quite finish. Josh O’Connor was brilliant. Gentle, awkward outsider that I couldn’t help but root for, even though his career choice wasn’t exactly morally right..
