Silly space fun confirms my suspicions that the problem with all iterations of this story is the second half with freaky baby, boring Paul, and nonsense white saviour prophecy bullshit. All great up to the point where Villeneuve starts part 2 and Lynch starts doing insane cuts with nothing explained. Much prefer Lynch’s second half because despite plot and cut issues it seems to match the more stately first half tonally, we don’t lose the nasty Harkonnen stuff and Paul…
