An adorably hilarious adaptation of the classic tale with plenty of self-aware winks. The film knows it's a fairy tale that has been done many times over and unabashedly goes for it, not taking itself too seriously.
The costumes are especially beautiful, intricate, and incredible to look at. Julia Roberts is a riot, Lily Collins is wonderfully charming, Armie Hammer is too cute, and the dwarves round out the cast with extra doses of fantastic slapstick humor. Also, Sean Bean…

Wreck-It Ralph 2012
Wreck-it-Ralph has solid character story arcs, emotional depth, and lots eye-candy (literally) that makes it stand out from the sea of lackluster animated movies. Alright, so Vanellope Von Schweetz's poop jokes get old fast but this is still an incredibly satisfying and heart-warming movie with tons of video game and sweets references to make your inner geek squeal with delight.
