This was so charming!
I can definitely see how Damien Chazelle took inspiration from this for La La Land. There are similarities in both the plot itself and the use of a vibrant colour palette.
I loved the main theme and how it was woven throughout the film. It felt a lot like an opera and was really moving.
The colour grading was stunning, super impressive considering that it was remastered from black and white.
