Harakiri 1962
A film about honor. I came across the movie after I learned the conditions of Yukio Mishima's death. I am thankful for this coincidence. Amazing storytelling, Masaki Kobayashi's craftsmanship at its highest. I always found what I was looking for from his movies. He never disappoints ! One of the most underrated directors of all time. Sensational !

The Human Condition III: A Soldier's Prayer 1961
Simply a magnum opus by Masaki Kobayashi. Last part of the greatest war trilogy that was ever made and one of the most influential pieces of art on my personal view on humanity. It has a strong effect on the way I understand the medium of cinema. Even though I watched it a long time ago it still gives me chills to this day every time I think about it.Also strongly recommend to check other films of Kobayashi especially Seppuku(1962) and Kwaidan(1964).
