i think part of this review is purely just based on the ‘shock factor’ that appears so quickly based on the main plot of the movie. that, and combined with the context of when i watched this really influenced my viewing. i wasn’t really expecting much- and that’s really all it was. it was a funny ass movie that we watched while waiting for my friend to arrive in the living room.

this felt like the kind of film you would be forced to write a critique on in high school about how “suburban dysfunction this that yada yada”. i think i enjoyed finally getting the chance to watch it, but holy lord jesus i will never get used to how hollywood treats minors lmao.
i think maybe if i was a 45 year old divorced dad i would resonate with this more.
great casting and performances no doubt, and i think at the most this film made me aware just how far the sam mendes pipelines goes.
