  some parts of this movie felt very poignant and for lack of a better word, quotable. overall it felt like the rhetoric was made to appeal to a feminist viewer in a superficial way. i got the impression that it was meant to make you think deeper about the pervasive nature of the patriarchy and how we respond to it, but it just... didn't do that for me? also taking into consideration that there's one "male feminist" and one transmasc character in the movie and they're both treated just like placeholders is bleh.

  entertaining, but not groundbreaking. it feels like they tried to sell this as a sweet teenage romance but it was just... not. jennifer's body may have made killing people sexy, but this made it seem sad and desperate. 3 stars for the fashion, music, and cole sprouse's acting skills.
