beautiful to watch but i can't say that i extracted anything too meaningful from it. Yang's subjects are all too familiar, he seems drawn to subtle dramas, and the fertile ground of his work is located in the ordinary. when a revelation in the story occurs, or when a beautiful composition is framed, it's only made that much more remarkable by the mundanity that surrounds it.
