Bottle Rocket 1996
This is my first Wes Anderson film and I expected to enjoy this a lot more. It just felt disjointed and I failed to connect with the plot or characters in any meaningful way. I did enjoy the camerawork and the scenes with Mr. Henry were entertaining. The use of diegetic sound in some scenes was also very nice. Overall, it was fine I just didn’t vibe with it.

This is a film that I can’t seem to get out of my head. As someone who was (and still is) knee-deep in the creepypasta and ARG scene this film hit close to home. It perfectly captures the compelling immersion of the format while also dealing with the less touched on social contract between participants and creators. There’s a sense of loneliness to this film that draws you in and makes you consider the reality of Casey’s turmoil. I’ll probably rewatch this sometime in the future to see if my perspective on it changes.
