some good bits, some rough bits. was distracted the whole time after i realized i lost my car keys. feel like they made daffy really dumb and useless. wasn't ever lmaoing. eric bauza was excellent

dripping in sauce, salt, booze, and madness. loved the still shots, loved the sheer power of the lighthouse. loved the narrative flip, and though it may have taken most of the movie, robert pattinson got what he had coming. spell-binding. almost like a nosferatu trial run. and shoutouts to b+w and 1.19:1
somehow, tim fehlbaum, i don't believe that you wanted to release a movie about a small number of israeli hostages being killed in big 2024 just because you "wanted to share a story about crisis journalism and comment on how we receive news today" (which btw, you said nothing of substance about that)

wow. i feel like i can laud this movie for several days and not repeat myself. i think you have to start with the writing. it's such a well-written story, with great pacing and great twists and turns. clear when it wants to be, ambiguous at other times. the film is gorgeous, really stunning. must be the vistavision. light, dark, and color are all beautifully balanced. the architecture is outstanding. i think there are honestly zero subpar acting performances. this…
