V for Vendetta 2005
Save for Natalie Portman’s inconsistent “English” accent, some logistical plot holes (how does Evey just have [her own?] perfect clothes as a fugitive hiding out at V’s house?), and cheesy closing sentiments at the end, this *feels* like a perfect film and the story is as timeless, and timely, as ever.

The Outrun 2024
I’m due to rewatch this to get a handle on the chronology of the nonlinear narrative (the movie makes use of the different hair colors as timeline indicators à la ‘Enternal Sunshine…’). As usual, Saoirse’s performance carries the film, and it’s worth watching for that alone. And the voiceover epilogue is akin to a poem that you’d pin above your headboard.
