This one struck such an emotional chord and is a striking parallel to my own journey of self-discovery. The tremendous societal obstacles, fear, denial, disassociation, and eventual acceptance of who you are. It’s all here. The world ignores you. It pushes you down, but ultimately, you overcome it all. If you know, you know. 💜

Showgirls 1995
A film that gets better with each viewing experience. Giggle at the melodramatic performances and allow the eroticism to take hold. This movie fucking rocks. It has style. It has a heart.
I’m trying to understand why this was received so negatively by critics and audiences alike. Was this just how people were in the 90s? A righteous and critical Hollywood establishment unwittingly missed the point. It’s an all too real glimpse into the unsavory nature of the world they themselves occupy. Showgirls is simply a satire of the world of show biz. A critique carefully balanced with appropriate parts levity and brutality.

The Amityville Horror 1979
The house is always watching. Those red ghoul eyes in the window scare the shit out of me every time!
