visually stunning and conceptually interesting. i get the appeal in that regard. but my god. completely politically reductive, incurious and uninspired. you could write a full thesis on how disappointing this movie is in its treatment of the gendered body, but i honestly don’t think it deserves the time or effort, since it obviously didn’t invest either into the exploration of its subject matter.
